AKP Phnom Penh, December 19, 2018 –
European Union (EU) will grant additional EUR 115 million of financial aid for three development projects in Cambodia.
The information was updated by H.E. George Edgar, EU Ambassador to Cambodia, while holding bilateral meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth to discuss Cambodia-EU cooperation, at the ministry office on Dec. 17, said news release of Ministry of Economy and Finance.
According to H.E. George Edgar, of the amount, EUR 22 million will be allocated to Public Financial Management Reform Program (PFMRP), EUR 85 million for Cambodia Programme for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth in the Fisheries Sector: Aquaculture component (CaPFish Aquaculture), and EUR 6 million for Cambodia Climate Change Alliance (CCCA).
On the occasion, the EU Ambassador spoke highly on the successful implementation of projects under the framework cooperation between the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) and EU so far, and EU will grant the above-said financial aid to continue and strengthen the cooperation.
For his part, H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth also shared the same view with H.E. Ambassador on financial support and good cooperation between the RGC and EU. H.E. Minister also thanked EU for its continued stance in supporting and strengthening cooperation with the RGC, and pledged to facilitate and collaborate with lined ministries, so that signing ceremony of the grant financing agreement can be done in early 2019.
