Korea Establishes Human Resource Development Center in Cambodia
AKP Phnom Penh, December 27, 2011 –
The Human Resource Development Center or Cambodia-Korea Cooperation Center broke the ground last week in the complex of the Royal University of Phnom Penh.
The groundbreaking ceremony was held in the presence of Minister of Education, Youth and Sports H.E. Im Sethy and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Cambodia H.E. Chang Ho-jin.
With the total cost of some US$7,450,000 funded by the S. Korean government through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the construction is scheduled to complete by December 2012.
Addressing the ceremony, the S. Korean ambassador said the center will provide opportunities for Korea to share experiences and join in developing the educational field and human resource in Cambodia.
For his part, H.E. Im Sethy said the Cambodia-Korea Cooperation Center will not only contribute in developing Cambodia’s educational sector, but also be a new symbol reflecting the closer ties of friendship and solidarity between the peoples of the two countries.
