Last week, the Ministry of Rural Development and Korea International Cooperation Agency presided over the workshop on the Review of Rural Development Policy and Strategy for Ministry of Rural Development.
According to press release of KOICA, it was the first workshop to review the rural development policy and strategy of Ministry of Rural Development of Cambodia, which was organized by Korea Rural Community and Agriculture Cooperation (KRCA) and Ministry of Rural Development. The purpose of this workshop is to build the capacity of officials at the ministry and at provinces whose work relate to rural infrastructure, rural water supply and ground water, rural health and sanitation, rural community development, rural economy development, rural village modeling, law and institution, human resources development and rural sociology.
The same source said that with active and cooperative activities, on March 2008, the government of the Republic of Korea through KOICA office in Cambodia provided 1.8 million USD for the project on the Review of Review of Rural Development Policy and Strategy of Ministry of Rural Development of Cambodia.
The main purpose of this project is to formulate policy and strategy on rural development of the government of Cambodia to contribute poverty reduction and improvement of living standard of people living in rural area and to strengthen the relationship and cooperation in the field of rural development between the two countries.
