KOICA sends 12 officials from National Election Committee (NEC) to participate the country training program on "Electoral Process and Management” in Korea

Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) of the Republic of Korea has sent 12 officials of National Election Committee (NEC) of the Kingdom of Cambodia to participate the country training program on "Electoral Process and Management " for 17 days in the Republic of Korea.  


The officials will leave Cambodia on February 28, 2008 and will be back on March 15, 2008.  


According to the press release of this agency, this training program was organized under 2008 technical cooperation program of the government of the Republic of Korea. This program has been designed to share experience in relevant field and to support capacity building for NEC concerning the upcoming national election on July, 2008.  


KOICA and Korea Civic Education Institute (KOCEI), and Korea National Election Commission are co-organizers of the program. KOICA will cover all expenses of the training including round-trip air tickets, accommodation, daily allowance, food and health insurance during the program in Korea. 


The same source said that this training course aims at improving participant’s knowledge in related fields and putting the knowledge in action for development of electoral process and management. 


Since 1991 to 2006, KOICA has constantly supported up to 1479 training courses for 24,727 trainees from 163 countries.
