The Japanese government has announced
plans to provide medical supplies to Cambodia to fight against the deadly
COVID-19. According to a statement from the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia on
Saturday, the medical supplies that the Japanese government will provide
include 9,360 isolation gowns, 480 alcohol hand rubs, 540 safety goggles and
24,400 sets of gloves. The supplies are part of the Asia-Europe Foundation’s
(ASEF) personal protective stockpile and financed contribution from Japan. The
aid package will be transferred to Cambodia from the warehouse in Singapore
in coordination with the WHO Regional Office for Western Pacific (WPRO).
However, the statement did not elaborate on the specific date when the
supplies will arrive in Cambodia.
