S. Korean Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade To Visit Cambodia
AKP Phnom Penh, May 02, 2012 –
The deputy minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of
Korea in charge of international assistance will visit Cambodia next
week to boost more cooperation between the two countries, H.E. Koy
Kuong, Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International
Cooperation’s spokesperson told reporters.
The upcoming visit was revealed by H.E. Kim Han-soo, newly-appointed
Ambassador of the Republic Korea to Cambodia during a meeting here on
Monday with H.E. Hor Namhong, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said the
spokesperson.
On the occasion, H.E. Kim Han-soo pledged to boost more cooperation
between the two countries during his diplomatic mandate, especially to
work with Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to help
Cambodia.
For his part, H.E. Hor Namhong welcomed H.E. Kim Han-soo’s diplomatic
mission in Cambodia, through which, he said, the relationship and
cooperation between both countries will be further deepened.
The Cambodian foreign minister further said he would meet his S.
Korean counterpart in July this year at the ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF),
the East-Asian Foreign Ministers’ Meeting and the Mekong-South Korea
Meeting.
He also expressed his profound thanks to the Republic of Korea for
its assistance for the reconstruction and development of Cambodia.
The two sides also exchanged ideas on the Korean peninsula issue.
