Japan Grants over US$12 million for Purchasing Machineries and Medical Equipments
Japanese government has decided to provide over US$12 million in grant aid to Cambodia to purchase machineries and medical equipments. The signing ceremony was done at the ministry of foreign affairs yesterday between Mr. Ouch Borith, Secretary of State and Mr. Kuroki Masafumi, Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia. Some US$7.5 million (600 million Yens) are given to Cambodian government to purchase construction equipments for the restoration of the roads damaged by the floods in 2011 as well as the maintenance of the road network. The rest (4.7 million USD equal to 347 million Yens) is used for the improvement of the quality of healthcare services through the purchase of medical equipments for 4 National Hospitals and 17 Municipal and Provincial Referral Hospitals.
