Ministry of Public Works Signs on Restoration of Portion of Road Number 56 linking two Provinces
Ministry of Public Work and Transport, on 26 December 2011 at Phnom Penh Hotel, organized a signing ceremony with two companies, KUMHO Industrial Co and HWANGBO General Construction Co., Ltd, in order to restore the 84-km portion of road no. 56, connecting Banteay Meanchey and Uddor Meanchey provinces, costing US$ 20,687,260 million, with the presences of Minister Tram Iv Tek, H.E. Mr. Chang Hojin, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea and Presidents of the two aforementioned companies. Minister Iv Tek expressed his great pleasure toward the restoration of the road and indicated that the road no. 56 is divided into two parts: One is the aid from ADB, and another one is from Korean ECDF. H.E. Mr. Chang Hojin complimented the cooperation and the road renovation, and stated Korea has made significant contributions to Cambodia in terms of poverty reduction of Cambodian population as well as Cambodia’s economic and social development. “On behalf of Korean people and government, I am really glad for the recent cooperation between Cambodia and Korea.” , he added.
