KOICA Provides US$ 2,500,000.00 to the ministry of rural dvelopment of Cambodia for the integrated rural development project in krouch chhmar district
Phnom Penh: The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) will sign an agreement with the Ministry of Rural Development of Cambodia to provide grant aid of US$ 2,500,000.00 for the Integration Rural Development Project in Krouch Chhmar District.
The signing ceremony would take place at the Ministry of Rural Development on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 (16:00) under the presidency of H.E. Chea Sophara, Minister of the Ministry of Rural Development and Mr. Kim Byung-gwan, Resident Representative of KOICA Cambodia office with some KOICA delegation of the Implementation Survey team and other government officials of the Ministry of Rural Development.
The main objectives of this project are to implement a pilot for the integrated rural development in three villages, Krouch Chhmar District, Kampong Cham Province, to suggest a model case and methods to alleviate poverty in the rural area in Cambodia, to enhance the capacity of the Central and Local Government to plan, administrate, implement, monitor and evaluate the rural development project, and to introduce and apply new agricultural technology to the Project Site in order to develop new income sources and generate incomes. This project will implement for twenty four (24) months. Please be reminded that until now the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) provided grant aid to Cambodia over US$ 50 million.
