The Republic of Korea provides 20 Units of Ambulances and Office Equipments to Cambodia

Phnom Penh: With the request from the National Committee for Disaster Management, the government of the Republic of Korea provides 20 units of ambulances, 23 Notebooks, 23 Laser Printers, 10 Fax machines, 70 Toners for Laser Printers and 40 Toners for Fax machines to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to share to the other related ministries. The hand-over ceremony was held at the Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on February 18, 2008 by signing on the Certificate of Delivery and Receipt between Mr. Hor Namhong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as Cambodia side and the Korean side by Mr. Shin Hyun-suk, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Cambodia with the participation of Mr. Nhim Vanda, Senior Minister and the First Vice Chairman of National Committee for Disaster Management  and Mr. Nuth Sokhom, Minister of Health. 


After the signing ceremony, Mr. Hor Namhong and the Korean side provided office equipments and ambulances’ keys to the related ministries. 


Mr. Heng Taykry, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health and Director of Calmette Hospital informed that with the request from National Committee for Disaster Management and with the seeing our difficulty, particularly, after the airplane crash in Cambodia and we lacked of ways of transportation, the government of the Republic of Korea provides 20 units of ambulances and these office equipments. With these assistances, the Ministry shared 9 units of ambulances to the ministry of national defense (1 unit of ambulance shared to the intervention headquarter of Phnom Penh Airport, 2 units of ambulances to the army forces no. 7, 2 units of ambulances to region 2 of army forces, 1 unit of ambulance to region 5 of army forces, 1 unit of ambulance to the region 4 of army forces and 2 units of ambulances to the bodyguard unit of Samdech Prime Minister). 


Mr. Heng Taykry also went on to say that other 11 units of ambulances provided to he Ministry of Health (2 units of ambulances for Calmette Hospital, 1 unit of ambulance for Chak Angrae Health Center, 1 unit of ambulance for Chrang Chamres Health Center, 1 unit of ambulance for Chbar Ampov Health Center, 1 unit of ambulance for Trapiang Kraloeung Health Center, 1 unit of ambulance for Siem Reap Health Center, 1 unit of ambulance for Rakakeng Health Center, 1 unit of ambulance for Ponhealoeu Health Center, 1 unit of ambulance for Bak Chan Health Center, 1 unit of ambulance for Kampong Tralach Health Center). The other office equipments provided to the National Committee for Disaster Management. 


Mr. Heng Taykry confirmed that the sharing of ambulances to many places like this because so far when there were the traffic accidents, our ambulances always met the difficulty because of the long transportation. 


At the hand-over ceremony, Mr. Hor Namhong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation addressed that the providing of these ambulances was to share to the hospitals around the city  because they could help and relief to people in timely help. Mr. Hor Namhong would like to deeply thank to the government of the Republic of Korea who has humanity to help to the government of Cambodia through the wise leader with good wisdom of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.
