Deputy Prime Minister HOR Namhong meets with members of the Parliament of the Republic of Korea

On 24 January 2005, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister HOR Namhong, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation met with His Excellency Mr. Lew Seon Ho, members of the Parliament of the Republic of Korea, head of the delegation.

 
During the meeting, His Excellency Mr. Lew Seon Ho told the Deputy Prime Minister that the purpose of his visit is to observe the development of Cambodia and to find the possibility to help develop Cambodia. He thanked the Deputy Prime Minister for supporting the activities of KOICA in Cambodia.

His Excellency Mr. Lew Seon Ho highly appreciated the excellent cooperation between the two countries since the establishment of the diplomatic relations in 1997. He also supported the open-sky policy of the Royal Government of Cambodia and the direct flight from South Korea to Cambodia and wanted the increase in South Korean tourists and investors to visit and invest in Cambodia.

In reply, His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation thanked the people and government of the Republic of Korea for supporting and providing aid for socio-economic development and accepted the Cambodian labors to work in Korea. He welcomed the Korean investors and encouraged more Korean investors to invest in Cambodia. He was delighted for the direct flight from the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Cambodia. His Excellency Deputy Prime also appreciated the good cooperation between the Korean Embassy as well as the KOICA with Cambodian authorities.

His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister HOR Namhong supported the peaceful solution to the Korean peninsular, especially the six-party talks. He said "Cambodia wants to see the issues of the Korean peninsular be settled the sooner the better".

His Excellency Mr. Lew Seon Ho requested His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister to help solve the issues between the two Koreas.
