During
the meeting with Cambodian agriculture minister Chan Sarun on 30 July 2012,
Zhang Jianlong, visiting Chinese Deputy Minister of Forests, Mines and Lands,
hoped that cooperation on forestry sector with Cambodia would be more broadened
in the future to ensure the existence of actual and long-running activity
implementation. “Cambodia has lots of experiences in forest plantation and
protection with favorable result plus good policy, and China would learn these
from Cambodia.”, added the Deputy Minister. For his part, Minister Chan Sarun
indicated Chinese vice minister’s visit offered an invaluable opportunity for
Cambodian officials to learn about China’s new technology and proposed the
Chinese side to support, provide study opportunity, exchange experiences and
visits, and train Cambodian officials coupled with other requests such as
assistance in combating illegal transportation of wild animals and wood and so
