Summary
|
The International Fund for Agricultural
Development (IFAD), together with the Government and the European Investment
Bank (EIB), are launching a $125 million rural development project that aims
to boost incomes and food security for 200,000 families in Cambodia. The
project is financed by a $53.3 million loan and $1.2 million grant from IFAD,
a $57.6 million loan from EIB and $12.41 million contribution from Cambodia.
The above mentioned project is supported via Sustainable Assets for
Agriculture Markets, Business and Trade (SAAMBAT) project. The objective of
this project is to improve livelihoods by better connecting rural communities
to markets, technical training and employment opportunities. The project will
focus on building sustainable and inclusive rural infrastructure, including
roads and marketplaces, building rural capacity and linking rural
communities, especially for young people to get relevant skills and
technologies.
