ADB Grants US$60 million for
Rehabilitation after Flooding

ADB
granted aid and loan totaled US$60.25 million; of which, 55 million is ADB’s
credit and 5.25 million is the aid from Australian government, for road
rehabilitation project after 2011’s flooding, said press release of Ministry of
Economy and Finance. The signing
ceremony was held between DPM Keat Chhon and President of ADB, Mr. Haruhito
Kuroda, on 04 April 2012. DPM Keat Chhon said, the aid and loan will be used
for the improvement of infrastructure damaged by flood in 2011 such as national
and provincial roads with total length of 74 km, 450-km rural road and
irrigation system in 35 areas in Prey Veng, Kampong Cham, Banteay Meanchey,
Battambang and Siem Reap.
