AKP Phnom Penh, January 31, 2012 –
The Japanese government has decided to provide a total of US$97,100 to Pea Raing Operational District for the Project for Construction of two-storey General Medical Care Ward in Pea Raing Referral Hospital in Prey Veng province.
The Grant Contract was signed last Friday at the Embassy of Japan in Phnom Penh between Japanese Ambassador H.E. Kuroki Masafumi and Director of Pea Raing Operational District Mr. Kreal Roeung.
Addressing the signing ceremony, H.E. Kuroki Masafumi hoped that the project will further help improve the hospital’s healthcare service, thus contribute to enhance the local people’s well being.
For his part, Mr. Kreal Roeung expressed profound thanks to the Japanese government and people for their assistance to the construction of Pea Raing Referral Hospital’s infrastructure.
The grand assistance was made under Japan’s economic cooperation framework, the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (“KUSANONE” Grant). Since 1991, Japan has provided over US$47 million to local authorities and NGOs to support 460 projects across Cambodia.
