AKP Phnom Penh, December 6, 2011 –
Cambodia is planning to build a US$5.5-million Eye Specialist Hospital in 2012 under the collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
According to the Ministry of Health’s press release, this eye specialist hospital will be located in Ang Duong Hospital in Phnom Penh.
The Memorandum of Understanding on this project was signed last week by Health Minister H.E. Mam Bun Heng and Representative of KOICA to Cambodia Dr. Shin Eui-Cheol under the witness of Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Yim Chhay Ly and Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Cambodia H.E. Chang Ho-Jin.
On the occasion, H.E. Mam Bun Heng expressed deep thanks to the Korean people and government for their support to Cambodia’s health sector.
Since 2002, KOICA has supported five health projects worth US$20.2 million.
