Construction Launch for 2nd Chroy Changvar Bridge in the amount of $ 27.5 M Soft Loan from China

The construction of 2^nd Chroy Changvar Bridge named Cambodia-China Friendship Bridge was launched yesterday under the presidency of PM Hun Sen and Pan Guangue, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia. The construction of this 1,260 meter long and 13.5 meter width bridge is expected to cost $ 27.5 M which is the China’s soft loan, and to complete in 38 months. On the occasion, Samdech Techo Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the Chinese government and people, “The People’s Republic of China is our special development partner, who timely provides enormous grants and loans with no complicated conditions for the restoration and development of Cambodia in all sectors, especially four key priorities, namely water, electricity, road and human resource development.” Since 2004, China has provided grants and concessional loans, totally amounting to about US$2,093 million to restore and construct roads, bridges, and ports, he added.  (Rasmei Kam.)
