KAMPONG CHAM, Cambodia, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong on Saturday distributed China-donated relief goods to some 1,000 flood affected families in Batheay district in Kampong Cham province, 60 kilometers east of Cambodian capital.
Speaking at the distribution ceremony, Hor Namhong said China is the best friend of Cambodia and has always helped Cambodia at difficult time.
"Cambodia and China have very good relations and cooperation in all sectors. I believe that the good relations between Cambodia and China will be stronger in the future for the mutual interests of the two countries and peoples," he said.
He expressed heartfelt thanks to Chinese government and people for the flood relief assistance.
Meanwhile, the Ambassador of China to Cambodia Pan Guangxue said China sees Cambodia as a good and honest friend, as good friends, mutual help was very important.
"The government of China will continue to support Cambodia in order to help the country in social and economic development and in poverty alleviation," he said.
The relief goods include rice, food, blankets, mosquito nets and medicine.
Since last week, China has granted Cambodia the emergency flood relief worth 10 million U.S. dollars.
