The Republic of Korea Provides Grant Aid 3.5 Million US$ for the Construction of Batheay Referral Hospital

This agreement was signed by Dr. MAM Bunheng, Minister of the Ministry of Health and Dr. Shin Eui-Cheol, Representative of KOICA Cambodia Office, under the presidency of H.E. Deputy Prime Minister HOR Namhong, Minister of Foreign Affairs & Int’l Cooperation and H.E. Chang Ho-Jin, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Cambodia in June 10, 2011 at the office of MFA.IC.
Dr. OR Vandine, Director of International Cooperation Department of MOH informs reporters after the signing ceremony that the grant aid of 3.5 Million US$ aimed at strengthening Batheay Referral Hospital in Kampong Cham province with capacity building in providing healthcare service to the local people. This aid included the construction of a new two-floor hospital building with 30 ms wide and 40 ms length, the rehabilitation of old buildings, dividing such as Emergency, Obstetrics, Gynecology, and General Surgery Department. In addition, Korean side agreed with MOH in strengthening capacity building of Batheay Referral Hospital’s medical staff, and dispatching Korean experts to enhance the hospital as well.
Dr. MAM Bunheng, Minister of Health deeply thanks to the government of the Republic of Korea and people, that always pay attention in providing grant aid for heightening healthcare of Cambodian people. This grant aid contributed to developing Cambodia in every sector.
