KOICA Provides 3.5 Million USD for the Establishment of Batheay Referral Hospital in K.Cham Province

Phnom Penh: Korea International Cooperation Agency, (KOICA) provided grant aid 3.5 million US$ for the development Batheay Referral Hospital, Batheay District, Kampong Cham Province.
This agreement was signed between Dr. MAM Bunheng, Minister of the Ministry of Health and Dr. Shin Eui-Cheol, Representative of KOICA Cambodia Office, under the presidency of H.E. Deputy Prime Minister HOR Namhong, Minister of Foreign Affairs & Int’l Cooperation in June 10, 2011.
According to KOICA Press Release revealed that the purpose of this aid is to construct hospital building, provide medical equipment, and provide training course to the medical staff in order to strengthen the hospital capacity by applying Korean expertise and practices for reducing infant mortality rates and improving maternal and child health in Cambodia.
Dr. MAM Bunheng, Minister of Health said in June 10, that 3.5 Million US$ of KOICA grant aid will be used for the establishment of Batheay Referral Hospital, equipment providing, and human resources development in the field of health.
Dr. MAM Bunheng added that Batheay Referral Hospital is one of the potential locations in providing health service to the local people because it is located between Kampong Cham and Kandal Province.
Be noticed that, through KOICA, Korean Government assisted to develop health sector such as human resources training, building construction, and advanced equipment providing at the National Pediatric Hospital, Korea-Cambodia Friendship Hospital in Kampong Chhnanag, and other physical infrastructures in Siem Reap Province.
