Korea Helps Railway Master Plan Development Study

Phnom Penh: The Republic of Korea signed the Record of Discussions to provide Grant Aid to Cambodia with the total estimated budget of $6 million for studying and developing two projects in Cambodia. The signing ceremony was held on Friday last week between the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of the Kingdom of Cambodia. The two cooperation projects were “Master Plan for Railway Network Development in Cambodia” with the total budget of $2.8 million and “Road Safety Equipment & Materials and Safety Measures for NR No.3 and 48” with total budget of $3.2 million. Mr. Kem Borey, Director General of the General Department of Public Works of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, said that “The establishment of the Master Plan for Railway Network in Cambodia will be implemented in August 2011 for the period of twenty four (24) months”.
