CAMBODIA, PHNOM PENH, JAN 24, 2011-UNDP will provide $24 million US for Cambodia to clean mines and uxos at the rural areas to help reduce casualties for local people and take land to grow agricultural crops.
The announcement was made during the talk between Dr. Sok An and minister of council of ministers and UNDP side.
“It is a very important project for Cambodians to help contribute the poverty reduction and social development in the country,” Dr. Sok An said.
The finance will be used to implement project from 2011 – 2015. The project will be signed on January 25 at the council of ministers.
Last year, over 256 Cambodia suffered and killed by mines and uxos.
