(Phnom Penh) H.E. Chang Ho-Jin, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Cambodia said that the main point that developing countries need to do to develop its social economy is human resources training program.

H.E. Ambassador states at the 9th Annual Reception of the Cambodia-Korea Alumni Association (CAMKAA) that, from 1991 to 2010 development program of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has invited Cambodian government officials to train in the Republic of Korea in total 1.630, and those who are present in the today’s event have been trained in the Republic of Korea related to various field such as economy, industry, technology, and management.

Ambassador Chang Ho-Jin continued that “I believe that the best way to develop social economy in the developing countries is to develop human resources”. He added that “I believe that new knowledge and skill that you gain from the Republic of Korea will help you and Government of Cambodia to run the work efficiently and effectively than before”.

Dr. Shin Eui Cheol, Representative of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Cambodia, reveals that we have showed a lot of experiences to trainees related to our past experience in order to share and contribute to the development of the social economy especially human resources development, and this training program, I think that it should be more strengthened.

He continued that, in Cambodia, KOICA assists government of Cambodia to achieve strategic goal in poverty reduction and achievement in its Millennium Development Goal. At the present, KOICA works in the four main sectors in Cambodia such as Rural Development, Health, Education and Infrastructure.

In the 2nd Congress for the new president of Cambodia-Korea Alumni Association, Prof. CHHOUR Y Meng, finished his mandate and resigned from the position. Prof. CHHOUR Y Meng did not stand for the second mandate due to his busy work.

Mr. SENG Setha, Vice President of CAMKAA in the first mandate was elected as the new elected president of CAMKAA for the new mandate 2010~2013.
