KOICA Assists 200,000 USD to National Pediatric Hospital

KOICA provides Medical Equipment to NPH, picuture by Mr. HORT Sroeu, KOICA Cambodia office



Phnom Penh: Last 27 April 2010, National Pediatric Hospital received 200,000 USD from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) at the Cambodia-Korea Friendship Building in the National Pediatric Hospital.

Prof. Chhour Y Meng, Director of National Pediatric Hospital informed that “KOICA provides 200,000 USD of medical equipment to National Pediatric Hospital for strengthening capacity of medical doctors in this hospital”.

Mr. Kim Byung-gwan, Resident Representative of KOICA to Cambodia said that “since the early 1990s, KOICA has supported many development programs in Cambodia”.


He went on to say that “this hospital also functions as the training center for medical doctors from referral hospitals nationwide”.

Please be reminded that last March 2010, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) provided 2.5 million USD to the Ministry of Rural Development. The projects focused on rural infrastructure and improve living of people in Krouch chhmar district”. That project was implemented for twenty two (2) years.

Prof. CHHOUR Y Meng, Director of NPH said that “on behalf of NPH, I would like to say deep thank to KOICA who always provided both spirit and equipment to the NPH”.
