KOICA provides USD 200,000 of Medical Equipment to National Pediatric Hospital

Phnom Penh: The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) of the Republic of Korea provided USD 200,000 of medical equipment to the National Pediatric Hospital (NPH).
Mr. Kim Byung-gwan, Resident Representative of KOICA to Cambodia said that “KOICA has been engaged in a variety of activities aimed at “Making a Better World Together”. I think our partner countries like Cambodia can actually benefit from our cooperation program which is derived from an actual development experience of Korea”.
He continued to say that KOICA provided Cambodia-Korea Friendship Building to the National Pediatric Hospital contributing to the Cambodian government's efforts to achieve the CMDGs by reducing infant mortality rate and serving as the children's main treatment center. He went on to say that as a means of enhancing the quality of medical care of NPH, KOICA provides additional medical equipment with total amount of 200,000 USD.
Mr. Kim Byung-gwan also mentioned that “I strongly hope that the equipment distributed today will help the NPH’s staff to perform their duties more effectively and to strengthen their capacity. This will lead to improved and enhanced works in the hospital”.
Prof. Dr. Chhour Y Meng, Director of National Pediatric Hospital said that the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) provided Cambodia-Korea Friendship Building which was inaugurated in 2007. He continued that KOICA also provided training for National Pediatric Hospital’s staff to study in Korea to perform their duties more effectively and to strengthen their capacity.
He also went on to say that KOICA also many medical equipments to this hospital. The equipments distributed this time were 32 items as another contribution from KOICA to hospital for improving and strengthening capacity of medical doctors for providing medical treatment to the Cambodian children.
