Ministry of Rural Development Implements 2.5 Million USD to Improve Living of People in Krouch Chhmar District

Phnom Penh: Ministry of Rural Development will implement one project for 2 years to improve living of people in Krouch Chhmar district of Kampong Cham province. This project will be implemented after signing ceremony to received 2.5 Million USD from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) last Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the office of the Ministry of Rural Development.
Mr. Chea Sophara, Minister of the Ministry of Rural Development told DAP Media Center that “Ministry of Rural Development receives 2.5 million USD from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). This budget will implement on four main projects. Furthermore, those projects will focus on rural infrastructure and improve living of people in Krouch chhmar district”.
Please be reminded that last Wednesday, March 31, 2010, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) released one press release that it will sign an agreement with the Ministry of Rural Development to provide grant aid of 2.5 million USD.
Mr. Chea Sophara also confirmed that “this project will be implemented for 2 years which will focus on infrastructure, drinking water, health education service as well as education”.
Please be confirmed that until now the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) provided grant aid to Cambodia more than 50 million USD.
Recently, KOICA provided grant aid on “the Feasibility Study on the Construction of the Sanitary Waste Landfill in Siem Reap” to improve the living conditions of Cambodian people and contribute to mitigating the environmental waste pollution by constructing a sanitary waste landfill.
Be noticed that, so far, Cambodia was closely cooperated by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to urge Cambodia on development sector to be better.
Minister of Rural Development also added that “Ministry of Rural Development will close cooperated with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to get more development.
Mr. Kim Byung-gwan, Representative of KOICA to Cambodia said that he was very delighted to work closely with the Ministry of Rural Development in order to implement the project smoothly and efficiently.
