Kampong Cham: The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) of the Republic of Korea helps constructing over 14 km road and flood control dam for people in Chea Lea and Sambo communes to do farming two times per year.
Mr. Hor Namhong, Director of Batheay District Central Project and the Kampong Cham province congressman, and Mr. Park Dae Won, President of KOICA of the Republic of Korea went to visit the road conduction in Chea Lea and Sambo communes, Batheay district on July 17, 2008.
Mr. Park Dae Won told the village people that the situation in Chea Lea and Sambo communes was similar to his country last 30 years. Therefore, he decided to develop Cambodia.
Mr. Park Dae Won also said that when he has appointed as KOICA president, he selected Cambodia as the first priority visit. He believed that it was a valuable opportunity to revitalize and further promote the cooperation relationship between Cambodia and Korea.
According to the statement of Mr. Hor Namhong, KOICA has spent millions US dollars for road construction and channels in Chea Lea and Sambo communes.
Furthermore, all big channels could make people easy in doing their farming two times per year. In the past, people did not have enough water to do farming, but when this construction finished successfully we could do farming two times per year.
After meeting village people, Mr. Park Dae Won and Mr. Hor Namhong went to visit the road. They confirmed that the road was constructed in short time but good quality.
In addition, KOICA president would provide more support if there were more need.
