Ta Khmao, Kandal: The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has suggested Cambodia to creat one co-committee for taking the Korea Official Development Assistance (ODA), Peace Keeping Operations (PKO) and Korean Concessional Loan to the develop of Cambodia.
Mr. Park Dae Won, president of KOICA has suggested Samdech Akkak Moha Sena Padei Tchor Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia during the official meeting on July 18, 2008 at Ta Khmao Town, Kandal Province.
Mr. Eang Sophallette, spokesman of the meeting, informed that the official visit of Mr. Park Dae Won to the Kingdom of Cambodia was to visit all projects which were supported by Korea to Cambodia. Those projects were being implemented.
Mr. Park Dae Won said that he has checked KOICA grant aid. Then, he told the Cambodian people that KOICA will continue to provide grant aid to Cambodia, especially on agricultural development field.
Mr. Park also informed Samdech Tchor that Korean government will increase its official Development Assistance (ODA) as well as to actively participate in the Peace Keeping Operations (PKO) and concessional loan to Cambodia. In this context, KOICA suggested Cambodia to create co-committee between KOICA and Cambodia for taking grant aid.
In replying, Samdech Tchor Hun Sen has accepted this suggestion and he would thank to the Korean government and its people, especially to the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) that always supports to develop Cambodia. Samdech Tchor also suggests to Korea, especially in the mandate of President Lee Myung-bak, Korea should assist Cambodia on some projects such as project for construction of fresh water system in Siem Reap, Road No. 33-31 and 117 rehabilitation, project for construction of multiple purpose dam in Battambang province and construction projects of some bridges along Cambodian National roads.
Regarding this suggestion, Mr. Park would accept those projects and he would promise to deliver that suggestion to the Korean President when he returned back to Korea.
