Mr. Bun Narith and Mr. Kim Byung-gwan signed agreement on grant aid for Construction Bypass Road in Siem Reap

In evening of February 01, 2008, at the General Department of APSARA National Authority, Mr. Bun Narith, General Director of APSARA National Authority and Mr. Kim Byung-gwan, KOICA Representative signed the 3 million USD agreement to implement the second step for construction of 2 lines of pitched bypass road [pavement of bypass road] in Siem Reap Provincial Town.


The first line is the east bypass road which locates at the east of Angkor monumental site with 10 km long and 7 m wide and each sidewalk of 1 m wide, starting from Preah Dak village of Banteay Srei district to National Road No.6. The second line is the west bypass road which locates at the west of Angkor monumental site with nearly 5 km long and 7 m wide and each sidewalk of 1 m wide, starting from pitched road in front of Angkor Wat to Siem Reap Airport near former regional 4 military base and ends at National Road No.6.


Mr. Bun Narith said that the budget is the grant aid of the Republic of Korea and the benefit of these roads is for the development of transportation, economic, tourism sectors, especially for the conservation of Angkor area.
