The Korea
International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) provided Cambodia-Korea
Friendship Building to the National Pediatric Hospital in 2006. This
project was the 2nd phase of providing additional Grant Aid
to the National Pediatric Hospital for improving the functions of the
Cambodia-Korea Friendship Building; by enhancing the NICU (Neonatal
Intensive Care Unit) functions, improving the capacity of medical
services by renovating and expanding the building and through the
training of doctors and nurses, and strengthening the public health
sector of Cambodia by sharing knowledge and practices from Korean
experts.
Please be
reminded that the annual volume of KOICA’s grant aid to Cambodia has
steadily increased, surpassing 20 million US dollars in 2013. KOICA’s
grant aid performance to Cambodia would be approximately 100 million USD
from 1991 up to last year, providing 34 projects to Cambodia covering 4
sectoral priorities including Education, Health, Infrastructure, and
Agriculture & Rural Development. Furthermore, KOICA has strengthened
focused efforts to work together for the socio-economic development of
Cambodia in harmony with its rectangular strategy and NSDP for the
