Cambodia Korea Cooperation
Center (CKCC) at the Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) was inaugurated
officially on 12 June 2013 under the Presidency of H.E. Im Sethy, Minister of
Education, Youth and Sports and H.E. Kim Han Soo, Ambassador of the Republic of
Korea to Cambodia. The CKCC, a 3-story building, was established in October
2011 and successfully finished in May 2013 on the area of 5,457 square meters
by the grant aid of 7450000 USD from the Republic of Korea through the Korea
International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). The building will contribute to
developing human resources and strengthening education quality in Cambodia
through the short training course on technology skill and cultural program of
the two countries Cambodia and Korea, said H.E. Lao Chhiv Eav, Rector of the
RUPP. The CKCC was established with the aim of strengthening ability and
providing knowledge to professors, students, government officers and Cambodian
people. And, it will provide basis of human resources development and furnish
with modern and high tech equipment. In addition, it also a place for sharing
culture of the two countries, said H.E. Kim Han Soo. “As a true friend of
Cambodia, the Republic of Korea will share experience in development with
Cambodia and continue its effort to help for society development as well as
reduce poverty in Cambodia by granting various kinds of aids”, he added. H.E.
Im Sethy considered the building as an important part in training human
resources in Cambodia, and it also further strengthen the relationship and
