Phnom Penh: Upon the request
from Cambodia, the Government of Republic of Korea provided the grant aid of 2
million USD through Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in assisting
Cambodia to establish the master plan for the project for Cambodia’s
information and communication technology (ITC) Master Plan with the aim to
promote the e-government, e-economy and e-education for the country as well as
to improve the capacity building for the Cambodian officials on ICT sector.
Royal Government of Cambodia
(RGC) was aiming to establish the ICT Master Plan to contribute to the
sustainable socioeconomic development of Cambodia through improving
informatization status.
Within this duration, the
Government of Republic of Korea will dispatch a group of Korean ITC experts to
Cambodia to work and share their experiences with relevant officials in
establishing the legal framework as well as legal institution in order to build
the effective ICT infrastructure and industry in Cambodia. In addition, a
numbers of qualified Cambodian officials will be invited to train and study in
Korea in order to improve the quality and quantity of Cambodian human resource
on ICT sector.
Please
note that the document of the document of the project for Cambodia’s
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Master Plan was signed by KOICA
with the Office of the Council of Ministers on July 27th, 2012 at the Office of
Council of Ministers, to initiate the project implementation phase in which
NiDA was the implementation partner of the project.
