AKP Phnom Penh, May 30, 2012 –
Japan has provided some US$2 million for a five-year period to
improve the Cambodia’s air traffic control, a government official said
yesterday.
H.E. Chea Aun, Undersecretary for the Civil Aviation Secretariat said
it is the first stage of the Japanese assistance from 2011-2015 for the
preparation of the instrument landing system with international
standard and the improvement of the air traffic control, including human
resource capacity buildings.
Up to now, Cambodia has three international airports. The busiest
airport is Phnom Penh International Airport with some 1.83 million
passengers, following by the Siem Reap International Airport with 1.82
million, and the Preah Sihanouk International Airport has just been
operated.
