Phnom Penh, March 27, 2014 –
The Government of Japan, under Japan’s economic cooperation
framework, the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects
(KUSANONE Grant), has granted some US$435,449 in aid for the health
sector development in Cambodia’s four provinces.
The grant contracts were inked here on Tuesday between Japanese
Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Yuji Kummaru and representatives of the four
provinces.
Of the total fund, some US$109,214 will be used for the surgical ward
facility renovation project in Prey Veng province’s Pearaing Referral
Hospital, US$114,314 for the medical equipment improvement project in
Siem Reap province’s Children’s Hospital, some US$116,120 for the child
and general disease building construction project in Takeo province’s
Prek Kabas Referral Hospital, and the rest (US$ 95,801) for the maternal
and infant health care project through promoting health infrastructure
in Kampong Speu province.
