Korea International
Cooperation Agency (KOICA) granted aid of over 3 million USD to UNICEF so as to
improve maternal and child health care among the poor people in Cambodia.
Mothers and their newborns as well as the children under 5-year-old, who living
in the deprived areas in Cambodia will get benefit from any intervention which
enhance their health. Therefore, we would like to thanks KOICA for its fund
with the amount of 3.4 million USD through a joint partnership with UNICEF,
said a joint press release of KOICA and UNICEF. Over the next three years, a
fund will be used by UNICEF to achieve the Royal Government of Cambodia’s
Health Strategic Plan 2 (HSP2) from 2008 to 2015 by improving the essential of
maternal and child health care as well as improving nutritional status of women
and children in 14 health operational districts in the provinces of Kratie,
Stung Treng, Rattanakkiri, Mondulkiri, Kompong Thom, Preah Vihear, Kompong Speu
