A large Korea-aided rice mill
costing US$1.8 million situated along National Road no.6, Teb Kesa village,
Rohal commune, Preah Netpreah district, Banteay Meanchey province, was
officially put into use on 22 November 2012. Ambassador Kim Han Soo and Dr. Yun
Thon Hoo, Director of Culinary Institute of Korea, indicated Korea’s aids for
all sectors including agricultural and rural development show a very good
relation and cooperation between Korea and Cambodia. The rice milling machine
is capable to process rice from 3 to 5 tons per hour and is considered to be a
contribution to Cambodia’s policy, the export of 1 million tons of rice per
annum. Cambodian government and people and specifically Banteay Meanchey
province are really thankful to the Korean government for the aid, said DPM Yim
Chhay Ly, adding that this will contribute to the implementation of Cambodian
government policy on the promotion of paddy production and rice export. (Rasmei
